Aboriginal Quilt

Hmmmm!!! I'm not sure this photo does the fabrics justice? I sought out fabrics that would lend themselves to fussy-cutting but not really sure how to piece them together. Finally, I came up with this... I might have to upload another couple of photos so we can all see some of the great fabrics that are in it...

These 2 shots are taken from the top and bottom, hopefully, they show more of the fabrics and techniques used. In between the fussy-cuts are rows comprising of half-squares, diamond-in-a-square, Arlington Braid and a row of 2" squares by 2 rows - just to add some variation to an otherwise plain quilt.

25 Squares x 25 Squares

I'll leave you to do the maths on this one - 25 squares to the block by 25 blocks!!!
I saw this one made by the mother of one of our Quilting Club members and just loved it and so naturally, I just had to make it.
It was a lot of fun - most of the fabric came from my scraps bucket, which was a great way to use up those bits and pieces that we quilters hang on to... just in case...
