We were challenged in the Textiles course, to start a project with a long-term view - that is, to start something 'now' but not expect to finish it for quite a few years. We were given some examples of what these projects might look like and; I decided on this one...
Each of these hexagons are about 2cm wide...
Call me crazy!!! But one of these days these will be a Queen-size quilt - if I live long enough to finish it... that is!!!
And here's some squares cut to 2", ready to be folded over the templates.
On the last count, I think there are something like 2,500 squares in this lot... doesn't look like it, does it? And as you can see, I'm concentrating on shades of greens and pinks - the pinks go into the burgundy range with splashes of red to give it a boost! And of course, other colours get a guernsey because of the various fabrics and prints chosen.
And herewith is one of the blocks, set aside for its mates to be finished.
And herewith another Hexie masterpiece!

These hexies look wonderful. And yes, you can never stop again, for sure.
